Supporting the community: Pardoes at St Margaret's Hospice

Supporting a vital local charity

It was a pleasure for the Pardoes team to attend a recent event at St Margaret’s Hospice, joining supporters to learn more about the incredible care and services the charity provides to individuals and families across the community.

Sharing expertise in Wills and Estate Planning

Representing Pardoes were Senior Associate Solicitor Daniel and Marketing & Business Development Manager Tansy, who delivered an informative session on planning for the future. The session covered estate planning including Wills, trusts, powers of attorney and tax planning.

Daniel brings over 10 years of experience in this area and was keen to get involved in such a meaningful initiative, despite only being at Pardoes for a fortnight! His expertise, combined with a genuine passion for helping clients, ensured attendees received clear and practical guidance.

Highlighting the Sunflower Centre

A particular highlight of the morning was learning more about the hospice’s Sunflower Centre. This day hospice service provides specialist care, support and therapies to help people with life-limiting conditions maintain independence and live as well as possible. It plays a vital role in supporting both patients and their families (and this morning it provided some cracking coffee and cake, too!).

Every situation is unique

Throughout the event, it was clear that every individual’s circumstances are different. Each person has unique wishes, family dynamics and priorities when it comes to planning for the future. However, one common theme emerged from conversations: the importance of ensuring that loved ones benefit as much as possible, rather than losing out to the tax man!

The importance of planning ahead

Putting the right plans in place can make a significant difference. Starting with professionally drafted Wills and, where appropriate, incorporating trusts, powers of attorney and effective estate planning strategies, can help provide clarity, control and peace of mind.

At Pardoes, we are committed to supporting individuals and families with expert guidance tailored to their specific circumstances. Events such as this highlight the importance of both compassionate care and careful planning.
