CAREERS

When asked: “What is the best thing about working for Pardoes?” the resounding response from our staff is: “The people”!

To continually be able to provide such a service for our clients we collectively contribute to creative solutions and every voice is heard.

Legal Assistant - Residential Conveyancing

Join our expert legal team at Pardoes Solicitors
Are you organised, proactive and interested in developing your career in residential property law? At Pardoes Solicitors, a highly regarded South West law company, we are proud of the high-quality, personal service we deliver to our clients. We are now looking for a Legal Assistant to join our Residential Conveyancing team, based full time in our Yeovil office.

About Us
At Pardoes Solicitors, we combine legal expertise with a genuinely personal approach. Our teams support individuals, families and businesses across a wide range of legal matters, and we are trusted to manage our clients’ work with professionalism, care and attention to detail.
We foster a supportive and inclusive working environment where every colleague plays a valued role. We are committed to learning, development and progression, and we encourage our people to grow their careers with us.

The Role
Due to growth within the team, we are seeking a Legal Assistant to support our busy Residential Conveyancing department in Yeovil.

In this role, you will work closely with our Conveyancers and Solicitors, providing essential administrative and organisational support to ensure matters progress efficiently and clients receive an excellent service throughout their transaction.

Your responsibilities will include assisting with the day-to-day management of files, preparing and amending documentation, liaising with clients and third parties, managing correspondence, and ensuring that case management systems are kept accurate and up to date. You will play a key role in helping transactions run smoothly from instruction through to completion.

This position would suit someone with previous legal assistant or administrative experience, ideally within conveyancing, although this is not essential. We would also welcome applications from candidates who are keen to develop a career in law and are looking for a long-term opportunity within a supportive team.

This is a full time, office-based role in our Yeovil office.

What we offer you
We believe our people are our greatest asset, and we offer:
We provide – A competitive salary and benefits package, reflective of your experience and the market - £24,000-£27,500 DOE.
We develop – Ongoing training and development opportunities, supported by our Career Progression Framework.
We support – A positive and collaborative working environment, with policies that promote work-life balance, including birthday leave and the opportunity to buy or sell annual leave.
We listen – A culture where colleagues are supported, valued and encouraged to contribute.
We encourage – Opportunities to engage with community and pro bono work, reflecting our commitment beyond the office.

Why join us
Joining Pardoes Solicitors means becoming part of a company that values quality, teamwork and personal service. We invest in our people and are committed to being an employer of choice within the region.
If you are organised, motivated and interested in developing your career within residential conveyancing, we would love to hear from you.

How to apply
Please send your CV and a covering letter explaining your interest in the role to HR@pardoes.co.uk.

Pardoes Solicitors is an equal opportunities employer. We value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all colleagues.

Residential Conveyancing Solicitor

Join our expert legal team at Pardoes Solicitors?
Location: Bridgwater or Yeovil?
Salary: Highly competitive for the region, plus KPI linked bonus

Pardoes Solicitors is growing, and this is an opportunity to grow with us.
We’re a long-established Somerset Company with the ambition, energy and progression opportunities of a modern, evolving business. Many of our colleagues have built their entire careers here, progressing through the company with the support of our Career Progression Framework and mentorship programme. Now, we’re looking for an experienced Residential Conveyancer to join our team and help shape the next chapter of our conveyancing offering.

What makes us different?

We know talented people have options, so here is what genuinely sets us apart:

  • We embrace flexibility. Hybrid, full-time, part-time, condensed hours and unusual working patterns; we will consider them all and find a solution that works for everyone. We’re outcomes-focused, not clock-watchers.
  • Real development, not corporate buzzwords. We are small enough that your work is visible and impactful yet structured enough to offer a clear Career Progression Framework, mentorship, and the chance to step into more senior opportunities as we grow.
  • Competitive pay, reviewed annually. Our salaries are either competitive or above market for our size and region. We also carry out a company-wide annual pay review each April.
  • Family-friendly culture. Birthday leave, and the ability to buy or sell annual leave via a salary exchange, helps colleagues adapt work around real life, not the other way around.
  • A bonus scheme that actually rewards people. Introduced in April 2025, our KPI linked bonus scheme applies to all colleagues (fee earners and non-fee earners, with different structures). KPIs are realistic and achievable, and meaningful bonuses have already been paid out in the first cycle.
  • We are genuinely client-focused. We have an excellent reputation locally and consistently receive exceptional feedback on platforms such as ReviewSolicitors. Our culture prioritises clear communication, personal service and doing the right thing for every client, which is reflected in our reviews and our longstanding client relationships.
  • A place where you can make your mark. You’re not a number here. Everybody will know your name. Your ideas and contributions are valued and shape how we grow. You’ll see the direct impact of your work on the business and the community we serve.

The role
Through growth and team movement, we are seeking an experienced Residential Conveyancer to manage a full and varied caseload. You’ll work closely with the rest of the Residential Conveyancing team so you can focus on fee-earning and client care. Key aspects of the role include:

  • Managing a full residential caseload (sales, purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity etc.)
  • Delivering exceptional client service
  • Building strong referral relationships
  • Contributing to business development and supporting the team’s reputation locally
  • Optional involvement in mentoring or developing junior colleagues
  • Experience or interest in agriculture work is welcomed

About you

  • Minimum 3 years’ PQE, or Chartered Legal Exec, with significant experience of handling a busy and varied residential conveyancing caseload
  • Strong client care skills and confidence working independently
  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment
  • Familiarity with our case management systems (LEAP and Infotrack experience useful but not essential)
  • A positive, collaborative mindse

This role can be based in either our Bridgwater or Yeovil office and a full driving licence is required as there will be occasional travel to other offices.

Why this is your next career move
This is a rare chance to put your stamp on a team in a Company that listens, evolves, and invests. You get the support and legacy of a long-established practice, with the personal impact and career progression opportunities of a flexible, ambitious business.
