Pardoes team walk for Somerset Sight and Somerset Community Foundation

22 September, 2009

Pardoes employees Abbe Snell, Carla Tier and Amy Langford tackled a 9 mile walk on Saturday to raise money for Somerset Sight in conjunction with Somerset Community Foundation.

Held on Saturday 19th September at Wimbleball Lake, Dulverton, Somerset in the beautiful Exmoor National Park, there were varying distances to choose from ranging from 1 ½ miles to 9 miles.  There was the opportunity of a boat trip back to the start at the 5 mile point for those who were feeling the strain from the arduous walk.  The girls however, stuck it out and made it through to the finish.

Carla Tier comments: "We were extremely lucky with the weather, there was a fantastic turn out with people walking for their chosen charities and it really was an enjoyable experience".

Money raised will be shared 50:50 between Somerset Sight and Somerset Community Foundation; a charity that raises funds and makes grants to a wide range of community projects and voluntary groups that benefit local people.

Between the team, the girls have so far raised in the region of £500.00 for the charity, and wishes to thank everyone for their support.
