Pardoes is proud to have sponsored and taken part in the Annual Soroptimist Swimathon which was held at Taunton School on the 11th February. The event has raised in excess of £500,000 over the 21 years which it has been running, with the proceeds going to help local charities. This year the charities chosen were; St Margaret's Somerset Hospice, Citizens Advice Bureau, SURE (Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment) and Sands (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death). A massive £13,648.56 has been collected so far this year with still more to add to the total.

The 65 teams who took part this year were required to swim in relay format for 53 minutes with each member swimming two lengths of the pool to qualify for a lap, before tagging the next team mate.

The team at Pardoes completed a hard swum 60 laps - a fantastic achievement. Denys Rayner, CEO, who participated in the Swimathon, commented: "I am very proud of the Pardoes team who not only put a great effort in to swim but also to raise money for an excellent cause." The winning team this year swam a staggering 94 laps. We now know what we have to do for next year Team Pardoes - grow some gills!

Well done and a huge thank you to all those who participated and a big thank you to everyone who kindly sponsored the team this year.
