Legal Costs

You may be eligible for free legal advice if you have been arrested, charged or summonsed to appear in Court.

Legal Aid in the Magistrates Court is means-tested which means this will depend upon your financial circumstances.  Individuals who are receiving benefits or low-income may qualify.

Legal Aid will always be made available for cases appearing in the Crown Court. However, this is still means tested, and you may have to pay a contribution towards the government to cover the costs of representation in court.
