Rachel Oaten

Rachel is a chartered legal executive in the Wills, Probate and Tax Planning team and is currently based in the firm's Yeovil office.

She was born in Somerset and lives locally so has a good understanding of the local area, and clients. Rachel's work at Pardoes includes Wills, estate planning and estate administration, intestacy and succession. She also deals with Lasting Powers of Attorney, Deputyship Applications and Court of Protection work.

Rachel advises on elderly client asset management and care home fee planning. Rachel has over 16 years experience, beginning her career in a local law firm and has just completed 5 years with a large regional law firm having specialised in probate tax and trusts. Rachel has experience of trusts to include discretionary, life interest and charitable trusts. Rachel recently successfully won an NHS Continued Care Funding claim against a local Primary Care Trust, resulting in 3 1/2 years care home fees being refunded to the client and all on going care costs covered by the NHS.

Rachel is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives and will enroll as a Student Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. She is also the Branch Treasurer and Administrator for the Somerset Branch of the Institute of Legal Executives. Rachel regularly arranges training courses for fellow legal executive colleagues. In her spare time, Rachel enjoys target sports, DIY renovation projects and spending time with her family.
