Maeve is a Partner and Head of Commercial and Employment based in the firm's Taunton solicitors office. Listed in the Legal 500 as one of the region's top employment solicitors, Maeve brings a wealth of experience to the Pardoes team. Maeve provides practical support and advice to employers on all aspects of the employment relationship, from recruitment through to termination of employment, including drafting contracts of employment, advising on terms and conditions, dealing with grievances, including allegations of discrimination, and tackling the issues arising upon termination of employment.

Maeve also provides advice on planning and implementing business re-organisations and restructures, including staff transfers under TUPE and redundancy processes. Maeve is an experienced advocate, having worked as a barrister from London Chambers and having also qualified as a solicitor advocate before moving in-house as employment lawyer to a large multinational plc. She is an experienced litigator with a high success rate in defending claims in the Employment Tribunal. She is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and a member of their National Legislative and Policy Committee, responsible for reviewing proposed legislation and providing input and feedback to Government prior to implementation.

Maeve is also a member of the Employment Law Bar Association and a member of the Bar European Group. Maeve gained a BA in Philosophy at the University of Birmingham before working within the pharmaceutical industry, developing and implementing marketing strategies. She then qualified as a barrister, taking up pupilage at a leading employment chambers. Maeve relocated to the South West taking on the role of Devon County Council's employment lawyer, providing support to over 120 HR professionals on all aspects of the local authority's remit, including education and schools and adult and children's services.
