Catherine's first career was with the Valuation Tribunal Service during which time she undertook a law degree with the Open University, attaining first class honours. She completed the Legal Practice Course through Bournemouth University with merit before undertaking her training with South Devon firm, Bartons. She also practised with North Dorset firm, MacLachlan, for six years and as a Director for the last three.
Catherine qualified as a Solicitor in 2009 and has since gained 12 years experience in the Private Client department specialising in Wills, probate, lasting powers of attorney, tax planning, trusts and elderly client.
She is known for providing an empathic approach to ensure that her clients are guided through complex and often emotional issues in a professional but sympathetic manner.
To date her best career moment has been assisting a housebound elderly client under power of attorney. She was able to arrange a full time carer, make adaptions to her property and deal with all aspects of her care package and thus giving her several quality years of life following many very unhappy ones.
In her spare time Catherine enjoys spending time with her teenage sons, travelling when time permits and walking her crazy spaniel, Cara. She is also undertaking an ongoing renovation programme on her period cottage.
From the moment I walked through the door I felt comfortable, and I felt I was dealing with “unstuffy” professionals.
Friendly, courteous and business like approach making everything easy to understand.
Catherine has a very good understanding of law to arrange our Wills and family matters. Her advice has been invaluable.
I have confidence and trust in Pardoes.
You were professional, efficient and provided a friendly service. Thank you.
