Now, we’re looking for a Legal Assistant to support our busy Family Law team across both Private and Legal Aid Family work.

The Role

This is an entry-level role supporting a busy Family Law team across both Private Family work (divorce, finances, children matters) and Legal Aid Family work (care proceedings, protective orders). The role focuses on administrative support, client coordination, and assisting fee-earners to ensure the smooth running of the department. 

Key Responsibilities

• Act as first point of contact for new and existing clients, taking accurate messages and triaging enquiries.
• Manage the department inbox, phone lines, and incoming post.
• Open new files, complete conflict checks, and process Legal Aid applications and evidence under supervision.
• Prepare and organise paperwork, bundles, court forms, and standard letters.
• Maintain diaries, schedule meetings, and assist with court deadlines.
• Upload documents to portals including CCMS, MyHMCTS, and other online platforms.
• Conduct basic research or fact-finding tasks as directed by fee-earners.
• Ensure client records, documents, and data are kept organised and secure.
• Handle routine administrative tasks such as billing support, file archiving, and scanning.
• Provide general support to solicitors, legal executives, and paralegals as needed.

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong administrative and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication skills and a calm, professional manner.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Good attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Confidence using MS Office and legal case-management systems.
• Prior legal office experience is helpful but not essential.

We are currently seeking a qualified senior Solicitor or CILEx to join our growing Family Department on a permanent basis.

The Role

Based out of any of our offices, you will be required to deal with all aspects of privately funded family work, including divorce, financial settlement, TOLATA (not litigation), cohabitation agreements, pre and post nuptials, domestic abuse and private children law matters, You may also be required to attend and represent clients at court and attend clients at our other offices when necessary. It would be helpful if you are familiar with Legal Aid (but not a necessity).

As a Senior Commercial Property Solicitor at Pardoes, you will handle a variety of matters, including commercial property acquisitions and disposals, leasehold matters, landlord & tenant and development work. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing your own caseload, supporting clients through the process. We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate their expertise as a fee earner, while also building and maintaining strong relationships with clients. Your ability to network and grow your own client base will be vital to your success in this role.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work in our either our Bridgwater or Yeovil office.

About You:

• A qualified Solicitor with 5+ years PQE in Commercial Property law.
• Experience in agriculture or a keen interest would be advantageous.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
• A proactive, detail-orientated individual who thrives in a small, growing team.
• Able to manage a varied caseload and work autonomously.
