Advice and representation at the Police station

If you have been arrested and detained at a Police Station or are requested to voluntarily attend at a Police Station, it is your right to have legal advice and representation free of charge. Do not answer any questions without having a Solicitor present.

Many of our team are Duty solicitors and Accredited Police Station Representatives and regularly attend Police Stations all across Somerset and beyond. All of the team have expertise in dealing with all types of allegations.

We understand that facing a criminal allegation can be a stressful experience which is why it is important for you to have confidence and trust in the Solicitor you instruct. You can rest assured our team are dedicated to looking after your interests and vigorously defending your rights whilst in the Police Station, and will do everything they possibly can to assist.

Crown Court representation

We understand that appearing in the Crown Court can be a daunting process, which is why our experienced team of Lawyers will help explain and guide you through, keeping you informed every step of the way.

Prior to attending Court, we undertake detailed analysis and preparation of your case to ensure it is fully prepared for trial. We have access to a wide range of experienced forensic and medical expert witnesses where Defence reports are required.

We have developed close links with leading Barristers’ Chambers and carefully select Barristers, where necessary, on the basis of their experience and dedication to our clients.

Funding your case

If you have been arrested and detained at a Police Station or are requested to voluntarily attend at a Police Station, it is your right to have legal advice and representation free of charge.

You may be eligible for free legal advice if you have been charged or summonsed to appear in court.

Legal Aid in the Magistrates Court is means-tested and will therefore depend upon your financial circumstances. Individuals who are receiving benefits or low-income may qualify.

Legal Aid will always be available for cases before the Crown Court.  This is still means tested and you may be required to pay a contribution to the Government towards the cost of representation in Court.

We will advise as to whether you are eligible for free advice or representation. If you are not, we will agree our charges with you and discuss terms for payment at the outset of your case.

Magistrates Court representation

Our Criminal Defence team regularly represent clients in Magistrates Courts throughout the South West from Bridgwater, Taunton and Yeovil to Weston, Bath and Bristol.  

Our team appear on a daily basis in all of our local Courts. We are experts in representing individuals who appear at the Magistrates Court.  Many of our team are experienced Solicitors Advocates.

Whatever the type of case, whether a minor motoring offence or a grave criminal charge, we have dealt with all levels of seriousness. Where necessary, any case will be strongly contested on your behalf.
