Funding your case

You may be eligible for free legal advice if you have been arrested, charged or summonsed to appear in Court.

Legal Aid in the Magistrates Court is means-tested which means this will depend upon your financial circumstances. Individuals who are receiving benefits or low-income may qualify.

Legal Aid will always be made available for cases appearing in the Crown Court. However, this is still means tested, and you may have to pay a contribution towards the government to cover the costs of representation in court.

We will advise you whether you are eligible for free advice or representation. If you are not, we will agree our charges with you and discuss terms for payment at the outset of your case.
