On Friday 9th October, the Exchange House in Taunton hosted a concert to raise funds for CLIC Sargent, and in particular Jakobi Hookens Especially For You Fund.
Pardoes were proud to support such a worthy cause, especially as the event was held in honour of Jakobi Hookens, grandson of Pardoes team member Christine Hookens.
CLIC Sargent provides all around care and support to children suffering from cancer and in addition provides invaluable support to the families of the children. CLIC Sargent has been in constant contact with Jakobi and his family since his diagnosis, providing them with accommodation whilst Jakobi undergoes his treatment and also with immeasurable financial and emotional support through what has been a difficult time for the family.
It was an evening of entertainment with live music being generously provided by tireless fundraiser Jaden Cornelius (formerly of 90's boy band B-Yond) and his support act Caroline Whale. Local solo guitarist Mike Bess also performed at the event.
The evening also hosted an auction and raffle in aid of Jakobi's CLIC Sargent Fund. Pardoes joined forces with Yeovil Town Football Club to donate a signed shirt for the auction and with Millichamp and Hall to donate Somerset Cricket Shirts; one signed by Justin Langer and two other shirts signed by the entire Somerset side. They also kindly donated a gift experience to have your very own bat made to measure at Millichamp and Hall's workshop down at the County Ground.
The evening was a huge success with over £3,500.00 being raised for Jakobi's fund! Christine Hookens and Pardoes would like to thank everyone for their kind donations and support.
