Jim is responsible for the financial management of the firm and for making sure the finance team provides a seemless professional service to clients and to all the other areas of the firm. He also gives advice to clients on income tax and handles the completion of tax returns.
He has a degree in Mathematics from Corpus Christi College Cambridge and is rumoured to hold a black belt in spreadsheet wizardy. After training with the Leeds office of one of KPMG's constituent firms, Jim spent the first half of his career working in the accountancy profession where he specialised in professional service firms including lawyers, surveyors, vets and residential care homes. Six years ago he crossed over from practising accountancy and moved into the real world of a solicitors firm before joining Pardoes in 2009.
Jim is an enthusiast for communicating accounting information and getting it used as a tool to help the firm become more efficient and successful, and more focussed on looking after our clients. His ambition is to distil all the key information about what makes Pardoes tick onto a single sheet of A4 paper: a bit like decoding the DNA sequence of an evolving complex life-form, but with less prospect of earning a Nobel Prize.
Jim's outside interests include stomping about on the hills, Leonard Cohen, cooking, explaining really complicated stuff, whistling tuneless versions of Beethoven symphonies and writing.
